Broadway Market

June 25, 2011
By Market London

Hackney’s Broadway Market is enjoying extremely good health at the moment, an expansive sprawl of boutique stalls rub shoulders with traditional market fayre of old, some great coffee and the chance to dig out a nice bit of old vinyl.

Keeping the locals going since 1890, Broadway Market sells itself on it’s community vibe, it’s a well respected and well loved local feature and makes Saturday special for many folk. You can take your pick from some choice organic meat, some truly devilish home made cakes and pastries as well as sampling some exotic world tastes. There are a host of vintage clothes on offer and some classic old records to be had.

The market is surrounded on both sides by some great local businesses too, ranging from Pie and Mash, Books, Films, Art works, a couple of great pubs plus some of the coolest cafes in the area, a truly great place to just hang out and watch the world go by.

The market is open Saturdays from around 9am to 5pm, though some stall will be there earlier. If you’re local you’ll already be regular visitor, if not make it your priority to get down there at the weekend.
